Recovered cotton fibers, made into a new uniform. The New Jeans have a higher rise and a straight leg, with a zipper fly and IOAN nickel-free metal buttons. Made with The New Denim Project in Guatemala City.

Azul keeps the color of the recovered fibers. These jeans involve zero re-dyeing and are featured here as the companion to the Indigo 12 shirt.

Where Our Indigo Comes From

Our natural indigo begins with Indigofera tinctoria, grown in Tamil Nadu, India. Local dyemasters work with fermented indigo vats, keeping the craft alive by hand. The number in each shade tells you how many times the garment was dipped in the vat. Each dip builds the color a little deeper.
