The Craft Decades of craftsmanship, excellence

Since its establishment in 1955, the shoe shop has made a name for itself as the source of top-notch leather shoes in the city. What sets the quaint shoe shop apart is that it is not a shoe factory, but has kept its roots as a family owned artisan workshop focused on details, craftsmanship, and quality. For over 65 years, the local of community of Buenos Aires has enjoyed the simple elegance of classic leather goods thanks to the Correa family and their team.

The Land Locally sourced ingredients

Home to a traditional, professional, and robust cattle ranching industry, Argentina remains one of the world's best known souce for leather hides. In establishing a scalable commmunity first approach with the team at Correa, only the finest vegetable-tanning methods (using tannins from the quebracho tree) and responsibly sourced raw materials go into the production of each pair of shoes.

The Process Less process, better for all.

You can typically find the small team of seasoned shoemakers and cobblers working diligently in their personal spaces, casually chatting with their co-workers and friends as they work. Through trial and error over the years, they’ve compiled books with tailored secrets and precise measurements that keep their tradition alive as in-house design editions.

The veteran members of the team have been working in these personal spaces for over 50 years and even after retirement, voluntarily show up to work every morning because it is no longer an occupation to them, but a way of life. The work that they do isn’t merely about outfitting people with leather goods; the older employees now have a new task – to train the next generation of apprentices. They feel a connection to the work they do and a responsibility as the last standing hand-stitched leather shop in the city to keep this craft alive and ensure it has a future.

The People From the land to the finished product

In the 1950’s, a burgeoning shoe maker, named Felix A. Correa, began following the passion of his hands. They lead him to become the founder of the last standing hand-stitched shoe shop in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Long before the shop turned into a full-fledged workspace, the Correa family had been living in the space for generations, while producing and selling shoes from their home.

Before his days running the shop, Correa was an immigrant to the city of Buenos Aires and spent his days learning every aspect of shoemaking, from sourcing leather, to cutting materials, to tailoring the products with the most precise measurements – all with the goal to fashion the highest quality leather goods one could find. After spending years perfecting his craft, he finally opened his very own shop in his home.
